Home Facilities Your Hosts Tariff Contact Us Crafts Useful Links Guest Book Quilts for Sale Rooms Gardens Auckland city is located just 25 minutes south of Calico Lodge B & B, but we are in a very quiet rural location, surrounded by the Wineries of Kumeu, the reception lounges of Kumeu and Waimauku. Nearby there is a great selection of golf courses, the renowned Muriwai Gannet Colony and the Waitakere Rain forest. Auckland can offer the most discerning traveller a large selection of tourist attractions, if you wish to do the Auckland Bridge Climb, a cruise on the Auckland Harbour, visit Auckland’s Rangitoto Island, Sail an America’s Cup boat on the Auckland Harbour, and maybe dine at Auckland’s viaduct harbour which was established when the America’s Cup was held on Auckland’s Harbour, visit the Auckland Museum and see the Maori Concert party perform, it is all close by. Eden Park Auckland, home to New Zealand Rugby, is 28 kms from Calico Lodge B & B, and this journey would take approx 25 minutes. There will be no parking in the vicinity of Eden Park during September and October 2011 and we would suggest driving to either a bus or train station and using this mode of transport to arrive at a rugby game. North Harbour Stadium is 25 kms and approx 25 minutes from Calico Lodge. Parking will be available but it will be limited and the transport hubs could be the way to go. Adjacent to this stadium is one of the largest shopping precincts in New Zealand, many restaurants and cafes, fabulous shops, and this will also be home to a special Rugby Fan Zone for the months of September and October in 2011. Only a short 25 minute drive from Auckland City and 45 minutes from Auckland Airport.
